Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase sourcing compliance through centralized execution of core product stocking decisions; improve assortment commonality across Sysco’s network

  • Leverage analytics to support ongoing management of under-performing products

  • Develop Assortment Strategy & Innovation KPI’s and establish site specific targets

  • Leverage technology enabling effective insights collection process; optimize internal and external insights to continuously assess assortment gaps, duplication, emerging trends

  • Ensure alignment of merchandising objectives with Supply Chain initiatives enabling broader access to assortment (Cross docking, Pick/Pack/Ship, SOTF, Central Whse, etc)

    Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college/university or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of a degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions

    Experience Required:

  • Minimum of five years of foodservice distribution or related experience within a retail, wholesale or other food related industries

    Experience Preferred:

  • Experience in Category Management in foodservice industry (distribution or manufacturing)

    Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong decision-making skills

  • Great understanding of product lifecycle management

  • Deep understanding of foodservice customers’ needs and behaviors

  • High level of business/financial acumen

  • Exceptional communication skills, experience in working in cross functional and matrix organizations

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage many ongoing projects at once

  • Self-motivation with the ability to manage initiatives in a challenging, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to assume responsibility and work independently with little or no supervision
