Our VP of Sysco Brands ensures we have the highest quality standards, the right products, and product innovations at the right price, in stock when customers need them. As a steward of our brands, this leader develops brand roles and positioning, product and brand development, packaging, and innovations across the world.

This leader is responsible to define the brand strategies and related growth priorities, as well as define assortment and price strategies for Sysco’s multiple Private Brand products, resulting in industry leading growth in sales and profit.

Key Areas of Focus

  • Develop a Sysco Brands business plan and go to market strategy for our ecommerce and sales driven channels.

  • Manage and Drive performance and contribution of a P+L for Sysco’s Private Brand portfolio through marketing, and promotional programs, field engagement, and customer engagement programs.

  • Drive a Digital first mindset and practices to bring Sysco’s assortment to life in a digital, online shopping experience, by building best practices, including supplier collaboration, product attribution, and digital content standards.

  • Collaborate with VP Merchandising, and VP of Personalization and Ecommerce to drive growth and Sysco Brand priorities on Shop, Sysco’s ecommerce platform.

  • Build and execute, data driven, industry leading growth plans that are customer-led across all channels of business.

  • Define Priority customer and other growth platforms to support our ability to provide best in industry assortments for our customers.

  • Define, and Drive Product Innovations that matter to our customers. Sysco is the industry leader, and this team must drive the future of product innovations to support our customers’ needs and drive enterprise value. This will include the expansion of current Sysco Branded product and category offerings

  • Define brand and product architecture, assortments, and strategies across global and local needs.

  • Collaborate with Sales Teams to ensure we are meeting the needs of our customers.

  • Collaborate extensively with the Strategic Sourcing team to ensure the development of suppliers to fulfill our Sysco Brand strategy.

  • Collaborate with Operational Merchandising to incorporate regional/divisional feedback and drive adoption of the new core national assortment and a more locally relevant product assortment.

  • Collaborate with Food Safety and Quality Assurance team to ensure Sysco Brand suppliers deliver on product and packaging specifications

  • Collaborate with Inventory Management to improve service to customers and manage complexity and costs for inventory.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure Sales Teams have access to best in class materials and services to support the Sysco Brand portfolio pf products

  • Collaborate and share best practices with Sysco’s broad portfolio of businesses including multiple international businesses, Fresh point, Buckhead Meats, European Imports and other specialty business, guest worldwide, international sourcing, SYGMA

Major KPIs for this role include:

  • Sysco Brand growth in volume, sales, and margin.

  • Service Level

  • Customer NPS

  • Market Share Development and Growth

Milestones – First Six Months:

  • Establish an in-depth knowledge of the Sysco’s business, structure of the organization, and understand customer needs.

  • Become grounded in the brands, the structure and interact with various constituencies within the company including the marketing teams.

  • Have a thorough understanding of the business financials and methods to increase sales and gross margin, know the marketplace and what competitive opportunities we can employ that will result in gaining market share.

  • Build business plans, and strategies needed for Fiscal 2022 using assortment, price, promotion, supported sales practices in all digital and traditional channels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA Preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Merchandising or Retail Consulting

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive execution against a financial plan

  • Experience in Private Brand product development, Brand Innovation and bringing customer centric ideas to market.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational and cultural change efforts needed to ensure new, innovative concepts, business practices, and technologies are fully adopted and integrated into the business.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence a diverse audience; experience working with external and internal partners to bring ideas and platforms to market.

  • Proven ability to think creatively and disruptively to bring and infuse new ideas to business plans and execution.

  • Experienced in Omnichannel Business experience including a strong working knowledge of the omni-channel best practices.

  • Experience managing a sizable and complex business including P+L responsibility. B to B experience a plus

  • Ability to assess competitive position and develop differentiating business strategies.

  • Progressive experience Managing a large team with direct reports, stakeholders, and partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to capitalize on market trends and customer opportunities to maximize value creation.

  • Experience working and thriving in a highly matrixed company structure.

  • Robust leadership and talent development abilities and a collaborative, effective management style

  • Strong Collaboration Skills
