Customer Service Representative
JOB TITLE: Customer Service Representative

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: PRDC Sales/FreshPoint Southern California
REPORTS TO: PRDC Sales Manager
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Maintain and increase market share by satisfying customer needs and meeting management objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Input orders into computer system correctly.
Input orders into computer system from faxed copies correctly.
Process orders from the EDI System correctly.
Pull orders from the PC and process correctly.
Answer driver calls/ make truck appointments.
Communicate issues/concerns to appropriate personnel effectively and timely.
Maintain existing customer base through effective customer service skills.
Foster solid working relationships with other departments.
Follow through with customer requests.
Check inventory slot and confirm availability to customer when necessary
Take pictures of product at customer’s requests
Assist Shipping with inbound cross docks.
Confirm Cross Dock orders are accurate.
Release Shipping invoices.
Operate the phone system.
Maintain open communications with PRDC Sales Team.
Answer phone calls in a timely manner.
Introduce new items to customers.
Promote product we are long on.
Advise customers of operational procedures (special orders, call-in cutoff, etc.).
Notify customers daily of items stocked out or substituted.
May occasionally be assigned various office duties in the PRDC or other departments as needed
Suggestively sell promotional items.
Attention to details
Able to lift 25/30 lbs in cold temperate
Have good writing skills
Good sound judgment
Filing documents properly
Log in PO’s
Update spread sheets
Good attendance and adherence to work schedule
Must have positive attitude
Other duties as assigned
Overtime may be required
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
General understanding of distribution and warehousing procedures preferred.
One (1) year experience in a customer service related position preferred.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in a positive manner, follow through on directions and organize effectively to satisfy the customers’ needs.
Team player, self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Proven ability to interact with a variety of people and work with all levels within the organization in a professional manner
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school degree or equivalent
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, read, write and hear in English. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and sit for extended periods and perform repetitive movements in wrists and arms on a frequent basis. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to enter data into the computer system.
