Safely and efficiently transports product from various customers to various destination points according to customer invoices.
Safely transports product from various customers to various destination points, ensuring product is delivered on a timely basis and in good condition. Verify purchase orders are accurate and case counts match bill of ladings. Maintain an adequate level of fuel in the vehicle. Report any equipment discrepancies to the manager for immediate action.
Load and unload product according to customer specifications.
Ensure all logs are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis according to DOT and center standards.
Ensure all paperwork is turned in daily and report all damages and shortages promptly.
Develop and establish good relationships with the customers by providing excellent and courteous service.
Ensure complete and accurate reporting utilizing the onboard computer system.
Ensure all vehicle equipment maintenance reports are properly verified and completed for all pre-trip / post-trip inspections.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 years tractor/trailer experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is light to medium in nature. Most of the day is spent driving a tractor/trailer unit. Must be able to climb into trailer and load palletized product onto trailer using a power and/or hand jack occasionally. Must be able to communicate clearly to customers.
MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS Must be able to read at a distance close to the eyes, and at arms length, with or without correction. Driving requires distance vision. Constant alertness while driving or using equipment.
Activities occur both inside (protection from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED 3 axle tractor, 46', 48' and 53' trailers, OBC, power and/or hand jack.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES Must be at least 21 years of age and poses a valid Class A commercial drivers license
