SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:The Core Financial Team Member will provide leadership and support for the development and delivery of Core Financial services for Sysco; including the definition, analysis, and improved design of all processes as a key member of the design team for the duration of the Finance Technology Roadmap project. This role will provide leadership and direction to the team that delivers solutions that intersect with fixed asset management, indirect tax, project accounting (including BT Spend), intercompany, T&E, standard reporting/COE, and other processes for Sysco’s operations. This team member is responsible for managing both Sysco and external teams dedicated to delivering a highly effective experience to Sysco stakeholders as well as internally collaborating with otherFinance Transformation leaders as it relates to the Finance Transformation Roadmap project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall project management responsibility for other Finance areas in scope for Core Financial workstream alongside Procure to Pay Lead, Order to Cash Lead, and Record to Report Lead and their team members

  • Lead the definition, analysis, and future-state design of core financial processes, as a key member of the design team. Ensure documentation including training and FAMM materials are comprehensive and complete for future state Core Financial processes.

  • Ensure proper communication occurs with OpCo or Field leaders on changes or new Core Financial procedures, Coordinate and liaise closely with Corporate and Field Finance leaders as well as operations management

  • to ensure alignment and understanding of Core Financial processes

  • Provide thought leadership for Core Financial processes including bringing new ideas, solutions, and/or best practices to the design and operational teams

  • Overall project management responsibility of the Core Financial (Other Finance) processes

  • Assist with key business decisions, implementation planning, and training identification needs

  • Enable ability to reconcile conflicting objectives within business units and departments

  • Participate in Steering Committee meetings

  • Coordinate activities from core team and any cross functional impacts for the Finance Technology Roadmap project

  • Identify and escalate issues/risks and development of mitigation plans

  • Serve as a Sysco subject matter expert and/or faciliator to assist in identifying current gaps and functional requirements

  • Provide knowledge of current or future state processes to operational teams, as required

  • Define test cases and assist to validate results

  • Drive improvements in process efficiency and effectiveness

  • Contribute to the definition of service standards and continuous management of service level agreements

  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the establishment of a continuous improvement culture

  • Ensure establishment and effectiveness of internal controls

  • Lead and support continuous improvement and standardization of processes

  • Provide tactical direction to team members in performance of Core Financials and related processes

  • Coordinate and integrate across process areas

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of activities and reporting

  • Troubleshoot escalated issues, make decisions, communicate and escalate as appropriate

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:Bachelor's Degree

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:At least 5 years progressive experience in Finance (Core Financials) functions including at least 3 years directlyrelated managerial experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred experience with Workday Financials, Reporting, Configuration, Business Process Administration

  • Leadership experience in a finance shared services organization

  • Solid understanding of overall Core Financials processes

  • Strong knowledge of Finance operations and enabling technologies

  • Experience developing and implementing processes, procedures, systems and/or standards

  • Previous experience in foodservice or foodservice distribution industry is preferred

  • Experience with Sysco legacy accounting systems and supporting operational systems

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Expert proficiency in all Microsoft applications

  • Proficiency with financial software preferred
