SUMMARY: The SYGMA Network Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at the Columbus, OH Corporate office for a paid summer internship. Our Corporate office provides support services to our field associates and our functional areas include; Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Business Technology, Operations, Logistics, Human Resources.

Intern Assignments

Purchasing Intern

  • Assist Planners with daily reports, such as receiving appointment verification, confirmations, shelf life reporting to identify potential shrink

  • Inventory analysis of potential overstock/gap through inventory additive reporting and gap reporting

  • Use Tableau and DPR to review period trend analysis and provide suggestions

  • Review of manual minimums and maximums in DPR to ensure proper ordering quantity

  • Review minimum order quantities in DPR to ensure proper bracket and identify areas to reduce

  • Collect and send critical load information

  • Research stock transfer variance

  • Review potential invoice discrepancies to identify the problem

  • Assist the Analysts with compiling the DPR upload for planned demands and other forecast adjustments

  • Review of customer promotions and LTO’s to ensure appropriate action taken with inventory

  • Attend overview of all functions within the department

  • Engage with cross functional teams to troubleshoot problems

  • Vendor communication to correct product integrity issues as it relates to scanning of inventory

Accounting Intern

  • Assist in the job duties across multiple areas, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Credit

  • Assist with documenting current processes and practices, including identifying areas of opportunity

  • Assist in drafting internal training and procedure manuals

  • Assist with building task-oriented tracking tools and team metrics

  • Participate in cross-functional projects

  • Regularly interacts with all levels of the functional area

  • Engage in problem solving

  • Attend meetings and provide feedback


  • Research the viability of a new program or initiative, compile and present the results

  • Engage in cross functional teams to troubleshoot problems

  • Assist in the preparation to move to new mandated programs

  • Analysis of Department of Transportation Data

  • Expected to provide feedback to the development/improvement of processes and capabilities

  • Regularly interacts with all levels of the functional area

  • Engage in problem solving

  • Attend meetings and provide feedback

  • Create support materials for event or meeting

  • Perform study or survey; analyze and present results

  • Write internal communications

  • Maintain database for multiple reports in the Department of Transportation

  • Monitor daily reports for driver log violations, roadside inspections, Department of Transportation portal activity. Progress of STS roll out project,

  • Train on the requirements of driver qualification files per DOT regulations.

  • Train in DOT drug and Alcohol regulations and maintain eScreen Data


  • Currently enrolled in a four year undergraduate program at an accredited university.

  • Rising senior standing preferred.

  • GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • All applicants must submit a completed application, resume, and transcript of completed coursework.

  • Transportation to and from the internship experience.

  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours/week.
