General Summary:

This is an Operations position responsible for condition, location, rotation and availability of all inventory for production and shipping purposes as directed under general supervision.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.

  • Basic arithmetic skills.

  • Good physical stamina.

Essential Duties: (essential functions are in bold)

  • Physically receives all product arriving at Newport Meat Company.

  • Verifies accuracy against purchase orders issued by the purchasing agent.

  • Creates identification labels, palletizes product and keeps inventory logs as needed.

  • Wraps pallets by hand to insure stability.

  • Operates forklifts and mechanical jacks throughout the plant constantly in a safe manner.

  • Complies with all safety regulations and standards.

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all cooler, freezer and dry storage areas.

  • Responsible for participating in monthly inventory as required.

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
