This position is responsible for promoting the company’s products and services to CMU (corporate multi-unit) accounts and for building relationships with the CMU (corporate multi-unit) team. The main focus is to help Sysco customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company.
Increase Share of Wallet with existing customers via Face-time with Customer to identify customer desires/goals, evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers
Work with specialists/brokers for product ideation; share information and knowledge with customers as part of value-added service
Answer customer’s questions about products, prices, availability, and product use
Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
Day to Day contact for Customer: Customer & Order Inquiries, Manage Customers to MDA (master data agreement) Compliance & Ensure Customer Satisfaction
Buildout customer call plan and execute against company expectations
Serve as a liaison between the Sysco CMU (corporate multi-unit) team and CMU (corporate multi-unit) accounts.
Close CMU (corporate multi-unit) sales when the Sysco CMU (corporate multi-unit) sales team introduces opportunities.
Maintain a personal prospect list of accounts that are agreed upon with the Director and that are called on regularly.
Maintain a performance worksheet that details strategies and tasks to be implemented weekly to close accounts.
Communicate with merchandising regarding new item needs.
Prepare presentations and proposals as needed.
Work with Merchandising to acquire appropriate deals and pricing for potential customers.
Provide weekly updates to Senior Sales Management on progress.
Develop relationships with the RVPs and the entire CMU (corporate multi-unit) team.
Maintain ongoing conversations with each team to ensure one Sysco approach, while diligently working to make European Imports an easier for the CMU (corporate multi-unit) team to do business with
Develop a sales deck for CMU (corporate multi-unit) team to easily offer the European Imports portfolio to CMU customers
Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports – Sysco Food Safety Training Manual
Identifies opportunities and takes action to build strategic relationships across departments or teams to help achieve business goals.
Perform other duties as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts preferred.
7 – 10 years of prior foodservice sales, B2B experience, restaurant management or culinary background
Preferred: Demonstrated experience with and working knowledge of Sysco customers and sales support best practices
Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
Conveys information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps audiences understand and retain the message.
Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of action; develops and sustains productive customer relationships.
Monitors the results of delegations, assignments, or projects, considering the skills, knowledge, and experience of the assigned individual and the characteristics of the assignment or project.
Establishes clear courses of actions for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
Effectively communicates changes and progress.
Knowledge of marketing principles, product lines, ordering procedures, and credit terms
Familiarization with customer service activities, inter-departmental communications, and general finance concepts
Ability to manage end to end initiatives through challenging deadlines
Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to service multiple customers simultaneously; Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Expert in Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
Stay current on existing and new Sysco technologies (i.e. My Sysco Reporting, e-Commerce capabilities, etc.) to ensure customers have the latest information.
Ability to sell, ability to multi-task, familiarity with customer service activities and interdepartmental and cross-departmental communications, effectively present information, problem solver
