POSITION SUMMARY

The Sysco internship program is designed to provide vital information and practical professional advice to take with you well beyond the classroom. During this 10-week paid internship program, you will be involved in much more than the day-to-day operations of the company. As an intern, you will be exposed to relevant projects and challenges within the People Experience Centre of Excellence (PeopleX CoE), that will provide real-world experiences of advancing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, strengthening culture & engagement, elevating colleague experience and driving strategic transformation in all its forms to fully leverage the power of all our people. QUALIFICATIONS:

Strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical, strong verbal, and written communication skills

Education/Experience:

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelors/Master's degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Data Analysis, Communications, or related field.

  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0).

  • Prior experience working in DEI or I-O Psychology, or Organizational Development and/or currently pursuing a certification in aforementioned areas, preferred.

  • Good understanding of data analytics with exposure to statistical tools, data visualization tools and strong data interpretation skills preferred.

Serving in this internship, you will have an opportunity to:

  • 1:1 Mentorship: You'll be assigned a mentor for the duration of the program to ensure you get off to a flying start and continue to meet your development goals throughout

  • Career Coaching: You'll receive tailored career advice and guidance from experienced HR professionals, and people leaders who have been where you are, and will share how they have successfully navigated their careers.

  • Data & Analytics: An opportunity to gain firsthand experience using a combination of science, math, creativity, resourcefulness, and curiosity to uncover patterns & insights from employee engagement and diversity data; to make predictions regarding future outcomes & trends.

  • Dashboard Development and Presentations: Assist in developing talent management and supplier inclusion analytics dashboards in Tableau, creating data centric reporting that will highlight areas where we are excelling and areas where we have opportunity to improve. Prepare executive summary to present findings to HR leaders and other key stakeholders as needed.

  • Research on Best Practices: Investigate external industry benchmarks, metrics, and best practices in DEI and employee engagement to build a diverse and inclusive workforce.

  • Colleague Resource Groups Exposure: Participate in CRG & DEI Council meetings to gain insights and provide administrative support as needed.

  • CoE Communications: Developing content for DEI & Culture shaping communications with Comms team through internal channels and assist in creation of power point slides for stakeholder meetings (multiple projects).

  • Culture & Engagement Work: Assist with the planning and execution of employee appreciation events; onboarding process enhancement, action planning efforts for annual employee surveys; and help measure various statistics for the culture shaping efforts.

  • Supplier Diversity Basics: Gain exposure to basics of supplier diversity and assist with reporting requests for diverse spend and supplier representation, involves system testing.

  • Project Management: Learn basics, support project management and coordination of the overall strategic plan to track and report projects within the People Experience COE

  • Able to express or exchange ideas utilizing the spoken word.

  • Can lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Use of both hands is required.
