POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to preserve company assets via management of Sysco’s global insurance policies and schedules, gathering and maintenance of enterprise-wide underwriting and exposure information and working with Sysco global brokers in documenting underwriting information in a best-in-class fashion for presentation to global insurance underwriters. This position also supports Director of Insurance and Data analytics in management of ERM Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) systems. Such support includes conducting special projects associated with ERM RMIS and EHS systems, assisting in selection of systems and software providers, and participating in implementation and upgrade projects associated with those systems. This role also supports Director in development of analytics and actionable reporting & trending tools for BOD, Corporate leadership, ERM Compliance, Safety and Medical professionals and other teams in the enterprise to mitigate global cost of risk while facilitating strategic planning in achievement of corporate goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of annual renewal applications for all global insurance coverages (including all Property, Casualty, and Executive/Financial lines of coverage). Collaborate with global Business Units in gathering underwriting and exposure information.

  • Collection of data from internal and external sources to validate application content; develop tools and process to ensure accurate, efficient and timely collection of field data; collaborate with key stakeholders to improve accuracy and efficiency of data collection.

  • Participate in stewardship, strategy, renewal, and other meetings with global brokers and insurers.

  • Manage daily insurance program; act as point of contact for Broker on billing, policy, binder, certificate issues; coordinate field questions with Broker; schedule insurance meetings to discuss coverage review, new acquisitions, new products, make recommendations for program improvements.

  • Assist in the development of policy to accurately allocate insurance costs and loss liabilities to Sysco entities designed to drive management behavior to prevent losses; design and oversee implementation of the allocation methodology, track and make recommendations for changes/improvements.

  • Provide user support for departmental software to local and field staff including reporting, scheduling of training sessions and troubleshooting as requested by Director, Insurance & Data Analytics.

  • Manage intranet sites and information including content, communications and reports; coordinate departmental review as necessary

  • Assist Director, Insurance & Data Analytics in designing and developing actionable reports to identify, track and highlight performance to goal, loss trends, focus areas and TCOR; utilize reports to formulate and recommend strategic short-term and long-term goals. Measure results and recommend adjustments accordingly.

  • Assist Director, Insurance & Data Analytics in designing and developing Board-level and Management-level analytics and reports.

  • Manage creation of quarterly actuarial analysis (US); provide data; plan, coordinate and review with internal departments, actuarial firm and external auditors. Work closely with global casualty insurance broker in developing periodic global actuarial analysis. Ensure compliance with internal SOX requirements.

  • Oversees responses to information requests from internal and external auditors. Reviews SOX testing for accuracy and completeness.

  • Create and manage data warehouse, merging data from multiple sources including third-parties (Third Party Administrators, Insurance Carriers, Actuary) with internal department resources (Origami, Dakota, Intelex, etc), external department resources (Financial Reporting, Operations, Finance) other Sysco data sources (BPC System, Tableau Server) and other external sources (OSHA 300 Online; SharePoint InfoPath databases). Data warehouse to provide ERMC and other internal departments with single-source for insurance and safety related reporting.

  • Maintain working knowledge of Tableau and other key ERM systems to serve as backup in providing dashboards and reports for various stakeholders throughout the enterprise.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree, ARM, CPCU or other industry designations preferred; or minimum of 7 years progressive experience in an equivalent position for a large corporation; or from practical experiences with insurance practice and policies and data analytics and ARM, CPCU or other industry designations required

  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of wide variety of risk financing, insurance coverage, markets and pricing trends.

  • Expert knowledge of Excel, Access; advanced knowledge of database structure, query and processes, report creating tools such as Crystal Reports and Business Objects, intermediate knowledge of Tableau, SharePoint, InfoPath, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

  • Relationship management skills to encourage cooperative effort, execute insurance strategy, ensure uninterrupted coverage.

  • Ability to vision, analyze, plan, communicate, and execute in a complex and financially savvy company.

  • Requires highly developed quantitative analytical and verbal skills as well as ability to deliver message orally or in writing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and telephone to talk and hear. Occasional travel required for site visits, seminars and conferences. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
