Hybrid Role: In-office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Work from home on Thursday and Friday.

Job Summary:

This role will support the USFS Director of Sustainability to execute sustainability programs, including:

  • Support customer engagement on sustainability: Develop standard materials and resources for customers on Sysco's sustainability program; support proactive engagement on sustainability including regular customer meetings and follow-ups on partnership opportunities. Support communications to national customers about new sustainability initiatives and programs.

  • Oversee the launch and ongoing management of internal Sustainability Champions Network: Manage membership, coordinate regular meetings and initiatives for the network to support the execution of sustainability across Sysco's USFS sites.

  • Manage Sysco's Volunteer Program with oversight from department leadership: Responsible for managing the quarterly volunteer program, organizing Global Support Center volunteer events, supporting Purpose Month, and growing volunteerism at Sysco.

  • Oversee progress against Global Good goals, with a focus on food waste/donations: Develop regular progress tracking and reporting cadence against the global good goals, escalate issues as they arise, and identify opportunities for improvement across sites.

  • Support best practice sharing across USFS operations: Deploy program consistency across all business units (e.g., share best practices identified in food donations in specialty vs. other business units)

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree (preference for degree in sustainability)

Experience Required:

  • 4 or more years' experience in project/program management, communications, analytics

  • 4 years relevant business and/or sustainability related experience

  • Solid PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Tableau knowledge and skills

  • Strategic thinker with ability to work in a matrixed organization

  • Ability to work productively on independent research, data collection and analysis assignments and as part of a team

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an outstanding ability to communicate with others at all levels of the organization

  • Energetic, efficient and resourceful team player

Experience Preferred:

  • Knowledge of food service distribution and associated supply chains preferred

  • 2 years or more of experience in corporate social responsibility or sustainability positions for a public company, a consulting agency or relevant experience preferred

  • Good understanding of various sustainable certification programs, e.g. MSC, Certified Humane, etc. as well as relevant global sustainability existing issues and emerging issues

Technical Skills and Abilities:

Time management, project management, strong attention to detail.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Knowledge of foodservice preferred.

Less than 10% of the type. Occasional travel to customers and/or conferences.

Typical office environment. This role will be in the GSC.
