Job Summary:

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for our Customers’ success, and growth in the Italian Specialty cuisine segment. In this role, the specialist will collaborate in the building and executing a Cuisine Marketing Calendar of campaigns (digital and traditional), utilizing all relevant resources and aligning with existing marketing activities across the country. Through collaboration with the Director, Marketing and the Platform leadership team, this individual contributor is responsible for delivering the comprehensive, unified marketing plan to include channel placement, timing, promotions, events, and social media campaigns to excite, inspire, and motivate customers and all stakeholders of the platform.

This role will:

  • Reinforce the organizational culture that demonstrates our purpose of connecting the world to share food and care for one another.

  • Message all products and services the Platforms offer

  • Enable our customers’ success to be realized by increasing their strengths and addressing operational and marketing opportunities

  • Assist and enable our Sales Consultants with tools and collateral for increasing customers’ traffic, check average, sales, profits and patron loyalty.

  • Develop and design collateral that ensure consistency and full utilization of all transformative capabilities and initiatives, with considerations to Site, Region, and Market geographies.

  • Supporting collateral will include existing corporate, market and region materials and insights derived from customer, transactions, industry third party and supplier insights.

This role will consume and enhance the collection of advanced rich content to enable Sales Growth, Customer and Sales Consultant confidence. Execute the creation, prioritization and enablement of all Digital Assets and processes through collaboration with a cross functional team to reach the customers within the segment while ensuring a relevant assortment and superior digital experience is offered and marketed.

The Specialist will ensure the enablement of sustainable, profitable sales, case, pound, gross profit and share growth, as aligned with documented strategies of today and future segment growth initiatives, as determined at the Center, validated and localized to align with Market and Region priorities. The scope of this responsibility is USBL and Specialty Divisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, curate, manage and maintain materials and tools to market, educate, inform and inspire the trial, retention and growth of the Platform Relevant Assortments. Assist with enabling sales, marketing, training, COGS management, supply chain efficiency, content collection and socialization.

  • Align with Corporate and Field Sales, Merchandising, Learning & Development, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance to support succinct Segment Strategies where Customer Size, Segment, Geography, Market Basket Share are clearly defined and specific tactical execution plans are enabled, timed and aligned for sustainable profitable sales and profit growth.

  • Create, refine, communicate, and align on a north star approach toward future segment opportunities, rich content capabilities and technologies, in order to create sustainable practices and behaviors.

  • Utilize dashboards to measure, monitor and manage KPI’s and financial impact of item data enrichment.

  • Assist in the assessment of existing and resources required during due diligence and Day 1-100 Merger and Acquisition activity by accelerating, simplifying and documenting standard playbooks for scalable activities across the enterprise.

  • Collaboratively build and execute an Annual Marketing, Events and Promotions calendar for Corporate Led and Field executed customer and sales consultant facing materials.

  • Adhere to an “on budget” execution of all initiatives and leveraging synergy across initiatives

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college/university or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of a degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions

Experience Required:

  • 3 years related experience with 2 years of digital/traditional marketing, eCommerce or category management marketing, product management, merchandising experience in CPG, Retail or Foodservice industry strongly preferred. Fiscal responsibility and budget development and execution

  • A proven track record of leading direct and/or indirect associates a plus

Experience Preferred:

  • Food service marketing, sales or operational experience

  • Proven record of innovative implementation and transformation

  • Team Building and Development

    Technical Skill s and Abilities:

  • Robust graphic design, campaign development, digital demand generation and social media content creation experience

  • Excellent knowledge of product information management and/or master data management

  • Great understanding of product and supplier management

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Deep understanding of food service customers’ needs and behaviors

  • Great communication skills, experience in working in cross functional and matrix organizations

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage many ongoing projects at once

  • Entrepreneurial approach to program ownership

  • Ability to assume responsibility and work independently with little or no supervision

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, graphing, data connections),

  • SmartSheets, Microsoft Office, SQL, Visual Basic, Tableau, Business Objects, R, or other relevant data mining software experience preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to analyze, design, and document business processes

  • Demonstrates openness to changes and new ideas

  • Identifies and demonstrates an understanding of the expectations of suppliers (internal and external)
