The position is responsible for replenishment from global and stateside suppliers to our redistributed and direct warehouses within the Sysco network. Experience and knowledge will ensure that metrics and procedures for the position will be followed to confirm accuracy within the execution. The position of a Supply Planner comes with the responsibility to accurately replenish inventory with a minimal capital investment while achieving a high level of service to the end customer.
Identifies, and executes any necessary changes within replenishment that yield improvement. As such this role will provide feedback to management in areas that can be improved for future supply chain decisions.
Participates in various meetings with Suppliers, Category Management, Regional Distribution Center (RDC) Operations, National Inbound Transportation, Supplier Compliance and other teams on both steady-state and future supply chain decisions while ensuring internal metrics are maintained.
Sustain and improve current replenishment standard operating procedures to ensure that best business practices are updated and accessible for current and future employees hired into the Redistribution Inventory Management Department.
Define and implement the necessary steps to support the Category Management Initiative with a high level of accuracy while demonstrating knowledge of inventory management that will balance inventory levels.
Lead aggressive order optimization with a strategic focus on the supplier, transportation, and operational performance to drive benefit from centralized replenishment.
Assures business continuity through approved suppliers and designated shipping lanes.
Conduct quarterly business reviews with key suppliers and cross-functional supply chain teams
Ensure replenishment alerts, purchase order placement, purchase order confirmations, and system maintenance is completed to maintain the Demand Planning Replenishment (DPR) service level of 99.5% and SAP service level of 99.3%.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Supply Chain, or Business or 4 years of equivalent work experience in a relevant work capacity can be substituted.
- Requires a minimum of 2 years' purchasing experience in foodservice merchandising or other inventory management experience in related industries such as retail or distribution.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- APICS Certification is a plus.
Demonstrated ability in using analytical problem-solving techniques and providing an accurate recap of findings and solutions with timelines to upper management.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills.
Outstanding problem-solving skills when dealing with time-sensitive situations while recognizing any areas that require improvement to mitigate future occurrences.
Proactive in identifying and resolving issues with minimal direction while keeping management informed in areas of importance.
Solid general problem-solving skills and ability to perform analysis utilizing MS Excel or MS Access to identify and analyze trends.
Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to complete assignments on time and with high quality under tight time constraints.
An approach that is helpful to others on the team or in the organization in terms of helping to get work out directly, sharing knowledge, and setting a tone of teamwork and cooperation.
Able to work independently and schedule own time daily.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to write reports and business correspondence
Effectively communicate among team members, to other corporate departments, and Operating Company (OpCo) personnel
