Position Description:
Direct the overall Global income tax process including return compliance, provision, planning and forecasting directly reporting to the VP of Tax with regular presentations to the C-suite on tax matters. Overall management, design, and responsibility of the worldwide tax provision and related SEC disclosures for the consolidated year-end and quarterly financial statements in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 18 for a $60B, 20 plus country US headquartered company. Maintain a reliable tax forecasting process, including forecasting the effective and cash tax rates. Research tax planning opportunities, tax law change modeling (including impacts of US TCJA) and perform tax due diligence on acquisitions including financial analysis and presentation of recommendations working with in-house staff as well as coordinating outside professional service providers. Overall accountability for the performance and results of the tax reporting and tax compliance teams; and for the tax affairs of the company in support of the financial strategies and objectives.
Position scope includes, but is not limited to:
Coordinate and oversee preparation of the tax returns for the Company's domestic and international subsidiaries.
Supervise income tax team including third-party vendor for out-sourced tax services.
Responsible for ASC 740 and FIN18 calculations, including SEC reporting and disclosure
Actively implement appropriate internal controls over all income taxes and related accounting and reporting
Worldwide Tax forecasting and modeling of Effective Tax Rate and Cash Taxes working closely with financial planning, operations, legal , treasury teams and executives across the company
Tax planning and research including providing the financial analysis support for initiatives/projects as well as modeling tax law changes
Analyze proposed acquisitions to assess the tax impacts of transactions from diligence phase through execution, including working with legal on purchase documentation language
Assist with the design and implementation of optimal tax structures for various new business initiatives (e.g. income sourcing, income characterization, PE/Nexus analysis, funding, currency issues, etc.)
Lead the income tax effort to develop and/or re-engineer tax processes and documentation procedures
Effectively manage relationships and deadlines with internal team, external auditors and oversee the work of third party service providers, taking into account budget and time constraints
Reports to and works closely with company tax executive on all projects.
Lead and develop other staff members in financial reporting, tax, and other operational areas while maintaining a strong relationship of mutual trust and respect
Coordinate with outside tax, financial and legal service providers on specific projects, as needed.
Manages the performance of team members, including interviewing, on-boarding, performance reviews, coaching, counseling and career development, etc. to ensure the continued overall improvement in employee performance. Overall accountability for the performance and results of the tax reporting and tax compliance team; and for the tax affairs of the company in support of the financial strategies and objectives while maintaining an intellectually challenging, respectful, and fun work environment.

Position Requirements:
Tax Experience - 12+ yrs. of Tax Department specific accounting for Income Taxes and/or Public Accounting Firm experience with primary responsibility for tax provisions, forecasting and tax risk due diligence
Degree - BBA in Accounting required, Masters of Taxation or Law Degree a plus
CPA required
US State and Local tax experience a must - International a plus
Strong Financial, Tax and Tax Accounting Skills
IT Skills - Advanced Excel and coordination with Sysco IT data requests a must. Ability to use Tax Research Software and Tax Accounting Financial packages. OneSource Tax Provision experience a plus.
Big 4 and SOX Experience in documentation and disclosure
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing business environment, manage competing priorities and the pressures associated with tax filings and general business demands.
Excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
Managerial Skills - Willing to get into the details; self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision; good communication and interpersonal skills; be able to deal effectively with a wide range of situations and personalities; ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines: maintain a focus on continuing to develop technical tax expertise
