Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Physical Security and Asset Protection develops, implements, and manages the organization's physical security, risk strategies and programs. The role requires a highly organized, dedicated, security-minded leader with experience supporting enterprise level physical security. As a subject matter expert in physical security, this role will provide guidance and oversight for all company locations, events, meetings, and physical security control projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set and provide the enterprise-wide strategic security and loss prevention vision

  • Develop and implement procedures and practices to protect associates, facilities, contractors, and visitors as well as physical assets

  • Develop programs designed to reduce shrink, loss, and liability exposures and monitor/report effectiveness to ensure leadership is aware of improvements, aberrations, and trends. Conduct root-cause analysis on variances to plan

  • Analyze major areas of shrink using data from investigations and assessments of loss prevention vulnerabilities field site locations

  • Develop loss prevention operations and procedures that incorporate loss prevention reporting, detection and predictive modeling

  • Develop and implement training programs and initiatives to combat and reduce shrink, and enhance safety

  • Responsible for overseeing company asset protection, security, and loss control policies and procedures and keeping up to date on asset protection and security trends, technology and processes.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert on a broad range of security standards and disciplines and drives all asset protection, loss control, and audit initiatives

  • Identify all issues and risks as related to facilities security, to which the company's people and/or assets may be exposed. Conduct risk analysis to determine whether they can be eliminated or minimized.

  • Maintain knowledge of professional and industry practices and governmental regulations; utilize this knowledge to recommend and propose internal policies and procedures

  • Collaborating on development of security plans and operational logistics for executive business travel

  • Travel as needed to conduct advance visits to event sites, partnering with intelligence gathering sources and coordination with local, state, federal and international agencies as needed

  • Provide and coordinate security related services including, but not limited to, executive protection, emergency planning, risk assessments, and special event planning

  • Oversee the timely investigation of security and asset management incidents, report findings and outcomes to leadership

  • Partner with our Ethics & Compliance and Internal Audit teams, as needed, on fraud investigations that require loss prevention and security support

  • Triage, investigate and manage physical security and safety related incidents, including liaising with local law enforcement agencies as required

  • Develop close working relationships with local, federal and state agencies, industry peers and industry groups

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility within private sector corporate security or a related public sector, government agency or military organization with a minimum of 5 years direct supervisory experience

  • BA or BS required OR at least 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, advanced degree in related field preferred

  • Must have prior experience working in a global multi-national company

  • Experience leading protective security details in the United States and abroad

  • Experience conducting security advances, planning, and managing special events, investigations and risk assessments

  • Working knowledge of event security as required to conduct, assessments and provide recommendations and/or implement the security measures needed to protect VIPs, events, facilities and intellectual property

  • Demonstrates resiliency, sound judgment, integrity, honesty, poise, diplomacy and tact in dealing with business and corporate challenges

  • Experienced at designing, deploying, and administering a physical security monitoring and emergency response center

  • Dynamic experience in crisis and incident response, with a focus on ability to maintain a calm demeanor and continued productivity and efficiency in high-pressure settings

  • Must have a strong knowledge of physical and electronic surveillance security equipment and systems, access control systems, CCTV equipment, and investigations and people management

  • Experience creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and business process documentation

  • Demonstrated understanding of best practices in physical security strategies, principles, standards, policies, and procedures

  • Experience defining physical security operating requirements, including responding to alerts and incidents

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to plan, coordinate and manage staff and operations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
