JOB SUMMARY

Strategically drive prioritization and optimization of the Infrastructure Portfolio of programs and projects while maximizing the use of all resources through the project lifecycle, relying on expertise to anticipate and address portfolio change requests, issue management, risk management and status reporting. Accountable for and manage the project portfolio scope, schedule, budget, and post deployment performance, delivering value and return of very large (multiyear, multiregional and/or cross functional teams) programs from pilot to full deployment across the enterprise. Creates long- and short-term what-if scenario plans, including setting targets for investment milestones, deadlines, and allocation of resources. Drive and measure performance of the portfolio and work holistically with senior managers and project leads to ensure programs and projects are best positioned for delivery success. Responsible for ensuring effective decision making when presented multiple options for how to progress with programs and projects. Oversee dependencies across the portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own onboarding of large projects, to deliver approved business functionality to Sysco.

  • Define and lead portfolio prioritization of programs and projects, approach, assumptions, dependencies, risk, and budget.

  • Partner with all stakeholders and dependent projects leads to develop detailed project portfolio plan.

  • Oversee portfolio of project budgets, including purchases and contracts, and monthly spend and resource forecasting to enhance cost and resource efficiency.

  • Oversee the execution and tracking of purchase requisitions and onboarding of third party resources to specific projects.

  • Serves as final point of escalation in remediation of risks, issues, or requests. Evaluates impact of scope changes on the projects and how it may interact with other projects.

  • Drives, develops and delivers presentations on portfolio of projects in addition to ensure communications between stakeholders of dependent projects and with senior management

  • Apply new techniques and methodologies or adapt existing techniques and methodologies to solve project portfolio related issues

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education Preferred:

Advanced degree (Masters or MBA)

Experience Required:

  • 10+ years' of program and project management leadership

  • 10+ years of experience working in IT Portfolio management

  • 10+ years building cross-organizational consensus

  • 10+ years liaising with senior and executive leaders

  • Management of a team of at least 5 directs and in addition to indirect members that include matrix leadership and responsibilities

  • Ability to mentor technology management and technology professionals

  • Ability to organize several teams to focus on best practice

  • Financial accounting and reporting

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience in structured frameworks, methodologies and operating models (i.e. ITIL,PMBOK,Agile)

  • Demonstrated understanding of program and project financials and measure of performance, including benefits realization.

  • Experience influencing, presenting to or facilitating group collaboration of all sizes and management levels.

  • Define and lead portfolio prioritization of programs and projects, approach, assumptions, dependencies, risk, and budget.

  • Ability to drive performance through benefits realization

  • Introduce new techniques and methodologies or adapt existing techniques and methodologies to solve project portfolio related issues.

  • Effectively lead and communicate through various levels of management from project leads, senior leaders to executive leaders

Licenses/Certifications Preferred:

CAPM/PMP, Prince 2 or similar certification.

Technical Skills & Abilities:

  • 5 years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project and Smartsheets or equivalent

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

  • Knowledge or expertise in multiple areas of IT Infrastructure (i.e. Data center compute, storage, networking, voice, cloud, end user technology)
