Sysco Sr Analyst, Commercial Finance in HOUSTON, Texas
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Commercial Finance Sr. Analyst, responsible for delivering financial and strategic support to Sysco’s corporate Merchandising organization. The individual must possess strong organizational and analytical skills and be able to manage shifting priorities in an ambiguous setting. Role will include financial reporting and measurement, analysis of key metrics and their impacts on the P&L, including margin, cost, price, expense, revenue, and rates of return. Analysis of external economic conditions and their impact on business operations such as inflation, interest rates, exchange rates. This position sits within Corporate Finance reporting to the Senior Manager of Commercial Finance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and manage relationships with business partners within the merchandising organization and across multiple business functions.
Leverage analytical data, economic and industry information to forecast and plan for inflation as it pertains to various products and commodities.
Gain a deep understanding of product verticals at Sysco and develop subject matter expertise relevant to areas of responsibility.
Play a pivotal role in the processes of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis in collaboration with team members and merchandising leadership.
Collaborate across functions to improve processes and current methodologies.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related quantitative field.
Minimum 5 years of work experience in a corporate setting, with emphasis on areas such as forecasting, financial planning and analysis, business analytics, and financial modeling.
Demonstrated excellent business partnership skills with senior level leaders.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
High business acumen with strong finance background.
Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience presenting to leaders.
Ability to analyze information, apply critical thought processes and draw conclusions in ambiguous scenarios.
Ability to develop work plans and support cross functional teams to achieve a common goal.
Experience in identifying, understanding, and leveraging 3rd party data sets to drive business insights.
Self-starter that is detail oriented and highly motivated.
Experience with Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivots etc.), PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Provide mentorship to junior team members.
Tableau or SQL experience is a plus.
