SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

The Vice President, National Multiunit & Local Sales Strategy role is a Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) leadership role that is responsible for developing and executing SSMG sales strategy, building & implementing a local sales strategy to be implemented across SSMG, and driving standardization across network. He/she will be responsible for building and maintain relationships with key multi-unit customers (these customers range from $10M to $100M in annual revenue) and lead/participate in industry and trade shows.

He/she will be responsible for overseeing raw material contract negotiation and execution; supplier development., builds costing models for RFPs, overseeing national account administration and support; and the distribution/management of pricing and specs.

He/she will have accountability and responsibility for leading a National Multi-Unit Sales team, owning all deployment and execution, and owning field deployment planning. Area of responsibility will include all areas of Local Sales/National Multiunit sales and leadership in a variety of initiatives with numerous cross functional Corporate and field-based teams on the development and execution of all field facing Sales and Revenue Management tools.

**This role may reside anywhere in the United States that is close to one of our facilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This individual will strategically lead and be responsible for the deployment and execution of all SSMG sales initiatives and will lead a team that will encompass SSMG National Multi Unit Sales.

This will include, but not be limited to:

  • National Sales responsible for targeted growth of MUS, including pipeline development, customer proposals

  • Build alignment and leverage national sales team with BL and FreshPoint

  • Build and Implement Local Sales Strategy leveraging tools BL has developed including onboarding/training and standardized processes including PSP

  • Support growth through BL through training and promotions

  • One Sysco collaboration

  • New Channel Development- Retail, Co-Packing, Meal Kits

  • Assessment/Development of current SSMG sales team

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Experience in leading complex, multi-dimension teams that operate in fast paced, dynamic environments

  • Strong collaboration and influence skills, and the ability to lead, listen and influence at the senior most levels of the organization

  • Leadership Proficiency in Field Sales, Contract Sales, and execution

  • Proven experience in developing comprehensive deployment plans, relevant go to market strategies and execution plans

  • Expertise in leading change, making appropriate decisions on change readiness at the Market and Operating Company level

  • Ability to effectively lead and manage complex projects and teams

  • Demonstrates well developed influencing skills with the ability to easily connect in a credible manner with field and corporate leadership

  • Possesses a deep understanding and demonstrated capability for strategy, processes, capabilities, enabling technologies, and measurement

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations

  • Able to drive consensus among key stakeholders with diverse needs and interests

  • Thinks and acts proactively rather than reactively and directs resources and stakeholders accordingly

  • Able to lead and manage a team with diverse knowledge, skills and abilities to achieve common goals and objectives

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Animal Science or related field or an appropriate combination of education and management experience

  • Advanced degree preferred

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience working in a Sales, Operating Company or multi-function leadership role at Sysco or similar operating experience in other industries, with at least 5 years of specific experience in a Field or National Sales leadership role within a leading organization.
