JOB SUMMARY (Briefly state why this position exists)
This position will oversee maintenance of all transportation fleet vehicles Primary responsibility will be to control costs while providing the best possible maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and employee safety.
Follow-up on all warranty issues and lease issues through Distribution Services and the manufacturers.
Oversee and coordinate all fleet maintenance projects, upgrades, repairs, all equipment monitoring and control.
Manage the day to day performance of third-party contract maintenance providers for the Fleet Department
Work closely with the Transportation and Warehouse Managers to ensure their departmental needs are met.
Responsible for P&L budget, including maintenance, and parts purchases
Manage all personnel in the Fleet Maintenance department including hiring, handling personnel issues, reviewing performance, conducting training and coaching sessions, and termination if necessary as applicable.
Attend training and practice knowledge of all SOP's and company policies and they relate to food and associate safety practices.
Ensure all associates are trained and practice knowledge of SOP's and company policies and procedures as they relate to Sysco's Food Safety Commitment, Sysco's Code of Conduct and all other associate and customer safety practices.
Ensure corrective actions are taken when safety and company policies and procedures are violated.
Conduct accident and injury investigations, complete timely, detailed reports and give to the Safety Manager. Help to prevent accidents.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma plus a minimum of 2 years experience in refrigeration maintenance, You must be able to effectively communicate (including reading, writing and speaking) in English. Additional requirements if maintaining the centers fleet will include High school diploma plus a 4 year degree and 3 years experience in tractor/trailer/warehouse equipment/refrigeration maintenance; or a high school diploma plus 5 years related experience.
Work is medium to heavy Frequent standing and bending is required when checking equipment. You must have the ability to communicate clearly, primarily via telephone, with vendors, manufacturers, customers, and Company personnel.
You must be able to read text that is close and at a distance with or without correction. In addition you must be able to perform manual task, hear, sit, reach, lift, bend, and interact with others.
Office is situated in the Fleet Department. Activities occur both inside (protection from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside.
PC, Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word.
