Position Purpose:

Responsible for work associated with obtaining goods and services for all types of business processes applicable to the organization including:

  • Management and development of expanded department consisting of associates within the roles of Merchandising Coordinator and Product Category Manager.

  • Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.)

  • Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Finished Goods for Retail, etc.) Activities include product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management.

  • Overall global operations for inbound Shipping transportation negotiations and container contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Procurement processes include product/service, sourcing supplier selection, pricing/terms, negotiation order, processing, contract administration, supplier performance management.

  • Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.)

  • Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.)

  • Includes Strategic Sourcing both Domestic and Global engagement.

  • Supplier performance Management/Evaluation. Engage supplier on a weekly basis and review open order reports and keep constant track of KPI of the vendor.

  • Financial and Quantitative analysis. Study current supply chain practices, identify opportunities that can help improve efficiency and/or save costs.

  • Supplier relationship management. Half yearly reviews. Plant visits. Understand and identify key areas on where there can be process improvements.

  • Liaison for internal customers (purchasing/forecasting/planning team/corporate accounts) for program transitions.

  • Strategic thinking and initiatives including supplier governance and contract management. Sourcing for supplier risk management.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA (International Trade) preferred.

Experience:

  • 10 years in the field of Procurement and Supply Chain Management required.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management and inter-department staff. Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.

  • A mastery of organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple initiatives/deadlines autonomously and shift priorities as necessary. Able to manage large, complex projects. Uses time effectively and able to work independently.

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Ability to build working relationships with internal business partners, vendors and customers.

  • Customer Service – Respond promptly to requests for service and assistance as needed. Follow up as needed.

  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Expertise in gathering and analyzing information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions.

  • Product Development, negotiation, supply chain management, International Trade/Logistics, Inventory Control, Demand Planning and Forecast Analysis.

  • Strong understanding of financial concepts (including pricing and forecasting).

  • Proficient use of forecasting applications, and MS Windows and Office (Word based modeling skills, Excel power user, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Outlook).

  • Technical / Financial analysis skills.

  • Change, risk, contract, supplier performance, inventory, RFP/RFQ management.

  • Total Cost of Ownership.

  • Commodity based costing.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

  • While this position primarily functions in an office or home environment, travel +50%, including occasional overnight, is required to attend customer meetings, team meetings, trade shows, and other company sponsored events. Position may require use of a personal vehicle or company rented vehicle, therefore must maintain a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Company minimum standard, as well as appropriate insurance.

  • Travel ability up to 75% to clients, shows, and ride alongs with sales team members.

  • Must be able to travel globally unencumbered. Must maintain a valid passport for international travel.

  • This position may require evening and weekend work depending on customer and business needs.

  • If working remotely, must have required software to ensure timely communications and a dedicated workspace free of distractions to participate in customer or team conference calls in a business-friendly environment.
