This role manages the functions and coordinates the activities of the Accounts Payable function to ensure timeliness, integrity, and accuracy of all accounts payable expenditures, claims processing and accounts payable related reconciliations within multiple ERPs. Manages and coaches staff, including training, hiring, disciplinary actions, and all workload assigned to Accounts Payable, and Claims Processing team.


  • Oversees the accounts payable functions including claims and inquiry for 82 national operating companies with revenue totaling over $50B in a shared service environment to ensure compliance with established guidelines

  • Supervise all directly assigned personnel, as well as responsibility for coaching and development

  • Define, develop, and utilize metrics to track productivity and identify areas of improvement for front-office and global partners

  • Create, analyze, and monitor trend reporting and month-end requirements for various processes

  • Develop, implement, collaborate, and improve stakeholder relationships with Suppliers, Vendors, and internal Sysco stakeholders.

  • Identify and analysis root causes of issues to deploy future state solutions

  • Identify and implement efficiencies, new processes, and technology changes to improve productivity and accuracy

  • Ownership of analysis of projects from end to end

  • Identify, build, implement and monitor controls/processes to be utilized across multiple ERPs

  • Use data analytics to draw conclusions and present financial and operational insights to support timely executive level decision-making

  • Make recommendations for solutions to business problems and opportunities using data analytics and predictive modeling

  • Develop efficiencies or new processes to allow for an increase in work capacity.

  • Performs continuous improvement analysis to improve auto voucher statistics.

  • Support the month-end general ledger close as directed.

  • Assist in making decisions regarding personnel recruitment, selection, and orientation of new associates.

  • Supports all accounts payable and claims processing centralization and technology initiatives

  • Management of compliance with all internal and external auditors

  • Perform ad-hoc analytics and financial modeling

  • Organize/conduct department training/meetings as necessary.



  • Bachelor's degree required- area of focus in Finance or Accounting preferred


  • 5-7 years of Accounting, Accounts Payable, Claims experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience.

  • Ability to lead all activities including planning, organizing, and managing the workload, projects, and activities for the department.

  • Excellent communication skills, listening and negotiation skills to articulate ideas and thoughts clearly through various means, including written, oral communications with all levels of the organization up to and including senior management.

  • Demonstrates strong management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under strict deadlines, department policy, procedures, and budget constraints.

  • Working knowledge of forms associated with purchasing and shipping and management principles
